![]() footbag.ee - home of footbag News [March 5th, 2005] Shercle Session #2 Oh-boy-oh-boy do we got news for you. On April 16th, it will again be time for footbaggers around the Baltic Sea area and further to gather in the luxury of the RadissonSAS hotel in Tallinn. Having a million dollar view over the sea and the old town of Tallinn as a background, a bunch of footbaggers will shred and compete throughout the day. And this will be followed by some jolly good entertainment during the after-hours of this unique event ;-) Check out the the SS2 webpage www.footbag.ee/shercle for more information. Or write to us at info _at_ footbag.ee :) ![]() [June 29th, 2004] New forum up and some other stuff Wow, yet another post in the news section! Well, it only makes sence because we do have good reason to write. First of all, in October Ilja Mitrofanov and Uve Poom from the Estonian Snickers Footbag Team crew visited the Lithuanian shredders in Vilnius and spread the word a bit. The trip most certainly seemed to have effect, the word on the street is that the footbag hords there were truly enlightened and got loads of motivation to bust better. And what can be said about them so far, is that some of the players have talent and potential, and even more of them have strong will to truly represent. What else.. well Vasek was in Estonia in the beginning of October. He held a superb performance at one of the biggest breakdance events in the Baltics (and perhaps the Nordic), the Battle of the East. People went nuts seeing his 2-minute dropless routine, which we also have on video...somewhere :p other than that, it was a great week that he spent here, which included a live 5-minute shred on TV, an interview+shred for a pilot of an extreme-sports show (that will probably never be aired ;)) and massive partying (we know you know it was coming ;-)). Thirdly, Tallinn Footbag Club held its first Christmas Shred on December 23rd in the Reval Hotel Central. We played in the conference studio there for a couple of hours, followed by sauna and total relaxation.. followed by a night out on the town.. ending up in a Turkish restaurant. Such things should take place more often and we hope not to wait until X-mas 05 for the next once :) And last but not least, Footbag.ee does have a brand new forum up and running. Check out foorum.footbag.ee and leave a note in our guestbook! ![]() [June 29th, 2004] annual recap :-p Oh boy we've been lazy updating the English section of the site. But you'll get your load now then. In the beginning of 2004 things really took off here. Our demo crew named Snickers Footbag Team has held more than 20 shows and workshops around Estonia. There was a small footbag tour, performances at numerous public events, quite a bit of shredding, etc. The highlight of period was definitely Shercle Session. A very cool event held in the penthouse of the RadissonSAS hotel, attracting around 20 players from Estonia, Finland and Denmark. With the help of Mafia films and Jere Vainikka, Shercle also produced a video Shercle Session Big of the event, which you can download for a limited time. For your knowledge, the video was never completed in the manner planned, and there is an excellent ending for the clip, but that is available for those who seek. Things have cooled down a bit in June due to various reasons, but well, the summer has been a wee bit too cool as well. We are excited as we enter July though, as we are looking forward to host about 10 Finnish shredders for shredding the guts out of a massive summer festival called Õllesummer. Just after the event, we'll take off for Copenhagen to attend the forthcoming Euros. No comments necessary, I suppose. And there's more on the go in this corner of the World, which we will be glad to let you know of soon. How soon? Indefinite period ;). Team Footbag.ee ![]() [September 11th, 2003] whad'up?! Stuff going down here all right :) First of all, something of international value - Ales was here. He participated a tourney held here within a big lifestyle sports festival, held a demo with the local guys and kicked quite a bit otherwise as well. On September 5th there was an expo for youngsters in Tallinn and Tallinn Footbag Club represented it there by simply kicking a lot, introducing footbag and getting some nice contacts. We gotta have more of those! Thirdly, there are some new vids up at the vid zone, Reimo's busting some nice moves that'd bring tears into the eyes of a grown man ;) Hopefully more footage coming soon! Team Footbag.ee ![]() [August 3rd, 2003] Update... Just a short recap of what has happened with the Estonia scene so far during summer 2003. First of all, there have been several demos and shows, for an example at the Estonian Breakdancing Champs, at Õllesummer, the biggest beer festival in the Nordic, a coverage in a national tv-hannel, etc. Snickers Footbag Team with its 5 members also visited the Worlds in Prague and a great experience it was, even though the results were rather modest. Everyone had a great time meeting and shredding with the cream of the crop as well as the regular kickers. On August 8+9, a lifestyle competition Simpel Session03 takes place in Tartu, Estonia. Thanks to our sponsor Snickers, we have managed to fly in one of the best shredders in the Worlds - Ales Zelinka from Prague, Czech Republic, who placed 8th at the Worlds held last week. He is gonna stay around for a while and the local kickers should get quite a bit out of it :) There are moew shows and demos coming up during the rest of the summer and a small footbag tour might take place in autumn. Shred on! Team Footbag.ee ![]() [May 28th, 2003] Back in business During winter 02/03 the Estonian footbag scene was quite quiet. That is perhaps due to the fact that one of the leading figures studied and kicked some serious bag abroad. Now his back, and this means footbag.ee is back in business... stronger than ever :) Team Footbag.ee ![]() [May 28th, 2003] Freedom Footbags On May 27th a little package from USA awaited Tallinn Footbag Club in the local post office. That parcel was filled with 5 Mr. Sandman footbags, which are considered to be the best bags for beginners and also the choice of many pro athletes. Why did we get that sweet little package? Coz Freedom Footbags has decided to sponsor clubs that fill certain conditions with it's bags and TFC just happened to be one of them. Big up to Daryl Genz ;) Freedom Footbags ![]() [March 17th, 2003] Updates... So we are finally working on the english version. We are so far ready with the history, videos, footbag art, and links sections. More coming soon... Kick on! Team Footbag.ee ![]() [February 1st, 2003] New footbag.ee launched Welcome to the new footbag.ee. After working on the site for a couple of months, Team Footbag.ee has given it a new look and added loads of information. However, as the project has been very time-demanding, we are not ready with everything, the English section being one of them. Anyway, here is a glimpse of what you'll get: - detailed history of footbag - profiles of Estonian players - videos and pics - message board (with English section) - lots more Suggestions and such are most welcome, because we want to improve the site and make it interactive. Until then you have the chance to visit the last version of the site: www.footbag.ee/eng.htm. Enjoy :D Team Footbag.ee |
